Salvatore (Salvo) Di Rosa
I am currently attending an MA in Critical Media and Cultural Studies at SOAS.
My background is in Languages and Literatures [I completed a BA in Comparative Studies (English and Arabic) at the University of Catania, Italy], but my “morbid curiosity” has prompted me to take an interest in politics, media and its “radical manifestations”.

Some of my interests lie on the interplay of democratic system and the masses, the open source phenomenon, video games and in particular the concept of radical gaming, the consequences of a possible adoption of a P2P model by the cultural industry and relative consequences on copyright. At the moment, I am doing a research on video games in the Middle East.
Moreover [and it is all fault of the benevolent dictator and a lovely wacky assemblage (as mr tom would define it) of friends], I am currently puzzling over French contemporary philosophy and loving it. Furthermore, I am intrigued by the potential that concepts such as rhizome and difference could have when used in order to experiment with new media.
