I’m happy to be pursuing the Critical Media and Culture Studies degree within the Media & Film department.

At the moment, I’m looking into the narrative that can be deciphered from the film archives of the Kingdom of Bahrain.  My interest stems from the fact that they are entirely produced, up til a certain point, by colonial powers.  I am interested in how these first images and the fact that Bahrainis are ‘othered’ in their own historical archives allows us to trace a eurocentricity that has carried on in the national historiography  from the point of the film deemed “the first documentary” up till developments of today.  

                Otherwise, I’m interested in visual arts, experimental performance, non-fiction graphic novels, the art of postcards, and many other things….
